چکیده

The pandemic scenario caused by Covid-19 generated negative impacts. has made it clear that our daily lives depend to a high degree on access energy. Therefore, now more than ever, is necessary promote new activities such as local food production, but also energy capture. This article an attempt expose and quantify the benefits of renewable transition in Ecuador post post-oil. generation, consumption, reserves oil were characterized, concept was applied evaluate possibilities integration renewables, progressive exit thermal power plants, future strategies. year 2015 taken basis determined use 154.0 TWh / year, which corresponds end-user approximately 147 year. objective reduce this end-use demand 80.0 TWh/year 2055 through renewables efficiency, for 5 phases planned until 100% system obtained. It concluded technically possible economically viable, without giving up well-being we currently enjoy. However, results show even not enough face climate change.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) consensual scientific knowledge on climate change and its effects is to some extent the known truth, but not necessarily the entire truth. Energy Efficiency Is Not Enough, Energy Proportionality Is Needed!

Due to the energy consumption/resource utilization characteristics of todays centralized DB servers, the fastest configuration is also the most energy-efficient one. Extensive use of SSDs alone cannot enable a fundamental change of this overall picture, because the storagerelated energy consumption is typically only a little fraction of the overall energy budget. Even, when this storage-related...

DRAFT: Scalability Bugs: When 100-Node Testing is Not Enough

We highlight the problem of scalability bugs, a new class of bugs that appear in “cloud-scale” distributed systems. Scalability bugs are latent bugs that are clusterscale dependent, whose symptoms typically surface in large-scale deployments, but not in small or mediumscale deployments. The standard practice to test large distributed systems is to deploy them on a large number of machines (“rea...
